We believe in homesteading, not only in the traditional “Back-to-the land” lifestyle but that self sufficiency skills and ideas can and should be applied to the modern life. In order to grow as a society and to stop the plunder of our planet, we all need to take responsibly for what we consume and dispose of.
We see the idea of Homesteading taking many forms, like community building, sharing, trading and selling knowledge and goods locally to create more aware and sustainable economies. Community gardens and markets are jam packed with high quality products from local growers, brewers and crafts people. Hand crafted and local is the new black.
Phrases like: Organic, permaculture, local products and services, sustainable fair trade, science based facts, recycling, environmentally friendly and so on, are all a part of the modern homesteaders lifestyle.
